Description

Welcome to Milkweed Antiques. This is a wonderful accessory for a 1" or 1:12 scale dollhouse. It is a tin litho coal hod. Coal was kept in this container next to a coal burning parlor stove or furnace. It has a working lid with a wire ring as the handle. It is a dark reddish brown with gold trim. It has pink and green flowers. The gold trim is in the Art Nouveau style. It has 4 molded bump feet. This piece was made in Germany but is not marked. It is just under 1-3/4" tall without the handle x 1-3/4" wide x 2-3/8" deep. It is in the 1" scale. This coal hod is from the 1920s or even earlier. This coal hod was used. There is a dime size worn spot on the top. The lid has a vertical dent. The bottom is pushed in a bit and has a dent. The lid no longer fits perfectly. Please see my pictures.
